I can now haz cheeseburger

For perfectly shaped hamburger patties, fill a round half cup measuring cup with ground meat mixture, decant into the hot pan, and use the bottom of the cup to flatten.

Is there anything wrong in just eye-balling the amount and flattening with your hand?

Nothing's wrong with eyeballing- using the measuring cup will give you perfectly round, evenly thick, more visually appealing patties.
