NOW president Terry O'Neill said it glorified violence against women. "I am blown away at the celebration of the violence against women in it," she said. "That's what comes across to me even more strongly than the anti-abortion message. I myself am a survivor of domestic violence, and I don't find it charming. I think CBS should be ashamed of itself."
Absolutely ridiculous. She's clearly grasping at straws and has apparently never seen the Three Stooges. It's an especially weak argument considering that the commercial ran immediately after one featuring Betty White getting tackled in the mud.
Gianna, I was just going to comment that some feminists were offended that Tim "tackled" his mom playfully. Sheesh, they are really fishing for a reason to be offended, aren't they? My husband and his mom have an affectionate relationship and I've watched them horseplaying many a time. Heck, I have been picked up by my husband and tossed over his shoulder as he runs around the living room, both of us screaming with laughter. Apparently that makes him a domestic abuser. LOL.
With all the horrors perpetuated on women in the world today - infanticide of girl babies, genital mutilation, honor killings - it's ludicrous that NOW chooses to get its dander up over a Super Bowl commercial. They are becoming a parody of themselves.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Except that it quietly espouses the Pro-Life view, which is offensive to the more vitriolic of the Pro-Choicers. Or so it seems to me.
Actually, Giana directed me to a really well written reaction.
