As if you needed a reason...
It's never clear who makes these things up, but someone has declared today to be National Handwriting Day. We suggest you celebrate by creating a piece of hand-written correspondence, perhaps with your fountain pen. Practicing your calligraphic skills would also be appropriate.

This subject is close to my heart. Just recently I was telling my college boys about the letters my grandmother and I exchanged when I was a Wisconsin college student. Those letters are in a special place in my home. I've encouraged my sons to keep the tradition alive.
I have some email conversations that are very dear to my heart, but hand-written letters beat them in every way.
With a nod to technology, I do sometimes like to compose my thoughts on my computer and then copy them onto paper. It's the best of both worlds.
I wholeheartedly agree. My personal challenge with emails is that sometimes my context is lost or diminished as the words appear on the computer screen. I like your idea.
Opening a letter, unfolding the pages,recognizing that familiar handwriting...changes the entire experience.
