It's never clear who makes these things up, but someone has declared today to be National Handwriting Day. We suggest you celebrate by creating a piece of hand-written correspondence, perhaps with your fountain pen. Practicing your calligraphic skills would also be appropriate.
It also happens to be the anniversary of the birth of John Hancock.

ReplyDeleteThis subject is close to my heart. Just recently I was telling my college boys about the letters my grandmother and I exchanged when I was a Wisconsin college student. Those letters are in a special place in my home. I've encouraged my sons to keep the tradition alive.

ReplyDeleteWith a nod to technology, I do sometimes like to compose my thoughts on my computer and then copy them onto paper. It's the best of both worlds.
I wholeheartedly agree. My personal challenge with emails is that sometimes my context is lost or diminished as the words appear on the computer screen. I like your idea.
