I was intrigued by this conversation (login required) from a while back on the Ravelry forums, in which people were asked to post items for which they always purchased name brands. The Bounty List, so called because of the original posters preferred paper towels, ended up as ten pages of posters favorite products. For myself, high up on the list would be:
- Hellman's Mayonnaise
- Jacob's Cream Crackers (when I can get them)
- Thomas English Muffins
- Burt's Bees Chapstick
- King Arthur Flour (for breads)
- Method French Lavender Surface Cleaner
So, what are some of your favorite "accept no substitutes" products?

Bounty and Hellmann's make my list, too. Bush's baked beans, Oreo cookies, ReddiWhip whipped cream, Daisy sour cream.
I'm with you on the
Hellman's mayo
Method lavender
I also buy
Twinings tea
Folgers coffee
Tuttoroso tomato sauce
Hunt's fire roasted diced tomatoes
-Kraft Mayo (and NOT that miracle whip stuff either!)
-Folgers coffee
-Bigelow Sweet Dreams tea
-Celestial Seasons Red Rasberry Tea
-Dr. Pepper (not Mr Pibb, they are NOT the same)
-Angel Soft TP (old pipes & septic, charmin causes backups)
-Dawn Dish soap
-Garnier haircolor
-Crest toothpaste in gel
As for store brands, I like Publix & Target. Good quality at reasonable prices.
-Pet Evaporated Milk (it's a family thing -- Pet Brand bought milk from my grandmother's dairy farm)
-Charmin or Quilted Northern tp
-Glad or Hefty trash bags
-Coke/Diet Coke
-I should add Triscuits and Shredded Wheat to my list; I've decided that the generic versions are just kind of flat.
-We don't have Tuttoroso tomatoes in my (very not Italian) neck of the woods, but Cento crushed tomatoes are definitely sweeter than Hunt's, etc.
-I'm also a big fan of any of the Celestial Seasonings "Zinger" teas, and Stash Lemon Ginger.
I use lots of store brand stuff, but there are a few things I hate to compromise on:
Cheese-It crackers
Coke
Dawn
Zip-loc bags
Fiskar scissors (or better yet, Gingher)
Ghirardelli chocolate chips
DMC embroidery floss
* Agree on the Gingher scissors -- I have two tiny pairs for knitting (one that travels with me, one that stays home)
*PG Tips for plain tea
*Trader Joe's TP (huge pack, recycled, not as expensive as others)
*Coke Zero
*Glad or Hefy kitchen bags as well (the store brands tend to rip on me)
*Fresh Step cat litter
*Arm & Hammer litter deodorant
*Peet's French roast coffee
Here's our list:
Lipton Tea
Coke (not Pepsi - ever)
Cottonelle TP
Viva paper towel
Loreal Colour Experte' Hair Color
All Free and Clear Detergent
