For
nice stationery, as illustrated by a recent missive from my former local ordinary. His Lordship uses a fountain pen, to boot! This is an art I am attempting to master, having recently received a fountain pen as a gift- any other fountain pen users out there?
There certainly are! Having gotten used to typing, I find that a fountain pen forces me to slow down and consider carefully as I write - important when you have neither the ability to delete nor to erase.
ReplyDeleteIt makes for an interesting mental exercise, and when you're done, rather than having a crossword puzzle or something that you have to throw away, you have a lovely letter that someone will be completely delighted to receive.
I like the fountain pen (it's an Ancora) but I feel like I am doing something wrong as I have to refill it about every page. This causes me to use it less often than I would otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI was curious about this: a review (fountainpenreview.blogspot.com) said the Ancora positively drinks ink, and suggests that you carry a bottle of ink with you!
ReplyDeletePerhaps this is just an opportunity to collect your thoughts, and not an indication that you are doing anything wrong...
